The First Baptist Church Activities Center is located at 1939 Independence Boulevard (behind Independence Mall) between Shipyard Boulevard and Oleander Drive. This recently renovated facility is a hub of activity not only for our congregation, but for the community as a whole. Meeting spaces, the FBC Christian preschool and recreation venues including our basketball court and softball field have served as places of ministry and outreach to our whole city.
Originally constructed in the 1970's to provide recreation and wellness opportunities to our members and the community, the FBC Activities Center is an integral part of the total ministry at FBC, seeking to complement, undergird and strengthen all of our ministries and organizations.
The renovation completed in January 2008 resulted in a facility that hosts small and large meetings, houses a thriving Christian preschool, welcomes children and youth into The Cove (an amazing space featuring games, worship spaces and a cafe), and provides the community with valuable "playspace" -- our basketball court and softball field. The Activities Center is also home to The Mustard Seed, our own Christian bookstore. The Gallery at The Mustard Seed features work by local artists in a venue that encourages the viewer to gain spiritual insight from a variety of paintings, photographs and mixed media works. 
From our Wednesday night programs (CrossTraining--fun, fellowship and opportunities for spiritual formation for all ages) to our large gatherings as a church family (Thanksgiving Wildlife Banquet and Winter Follies), the FBC Activities Center allows us to serve the Lord in fresh and inspiring ways!
