FBC Jail Ministry

Each Sunday morning, teams of male and female volunteers visit men and women in the New Hanover County Jail.  They share a time of prayer and worship together and encourage inmates in their daily struggles.  For more information on getting involved, please contact Jim Glass at 686-9461 or jglass2@bellsouth.net.

On Sunday, October 11, Jayne Davis read an excerpt from a letter written by Elias Azon, a man who is currently at the NHC jail and participates in the Jail Ministry offered by members of FBC.  Elias wrote, "I was lead to Jesus Christ thru the First Baptist Church’s Bible study on Wednesdays at the Jail.  This month on the tenth I will have been saved ten months.  I’ve learned a lot from Jim, Lyn, and John in the Wednesday Bible study.  The things I learned from Bible study I took back to the pod with me...."

A word from one of the inmates served by the Jail Ministry....
"The ladies that come to see me from the Jail Ministry make me feel safe, especially Ms. Connie.  She spends quality time with me."  More
