Ministry of Encouragement:
Brighten someone’s day and send a note of encouragement to a member who is homebound, grieving, or in the hospital. Share the joy of those who have new babies and encourage them in this new stage of their lives. Please note: we are expanding this ministry to include those who are in the military who would appreciate receiving an encouraging word. Pick up note cards at the sanctuary entrances, and then place the completed cards in the box at one of the sanctuary entrances. A few minutes of your time can have a big impact on someone else’s day. For an e-mailed list of names to send cards to, contact Judy Brown at 763-2471or e-mail her at jbrown@fbcwilmington.org. Additionally, if you know of someone in the military who would like to receive a note of encouragement, please contact Judy Brown with the service person's name and address.
Bereavement Teams:
Currently, there are three Bereavement Teams that reach out to families who have experienced a death to provide, if needed, child care and home security during family visitation and funeral services, and to prepare, serve and clean up a meal for the family. This ministry serves as a witness to our bereaved families and to our unity under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. To assist in this ministry, contact Frank Hawkins at 763-2471 or by e-mail at fhawkins@fbcwilmington.org.
Divorce Care:
At Divorce Care, you will become part of a small support group of people who are also experiencing separation and divorce. By interacting with these people, you’ll learn there are others who understand what you are feeling and will be able to offer you encouragement. Divorce Care is nondenominational and features biblical teaching for recovering from divorce and separation. If you would like to volunteer for this ministry, contact Jayne Davis at 910-763-2471 or by e-mail at jdavis@fbcwilmington.org.
