Women on Mission

Women on Mission is the adult organization of Woman's Missionary Union (WMU).  We are a missions organization whose purpose is to challenge, prepare women on mission logoand equip Christian believers to be radically involved in the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Women on Mission meet monthly to support missions work around the globe and at home by study, prayer and actively participating in mission projects.
 
Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at the Activities Center beginning at 10:30 a.m. and ending before noon.  Most members stay for the noon meal followed by the Tuesday worship service led by one of our pastors.
 
Interesting programs with a focus on local or foreign missions are presented each month.  Guest speakers are frequently invited to provide information on programs or services in our community that help those in need and at the same time tell the good news of Jesus Christ.  Through these presentations, new mission opportunities are identified and members are motivated to become involved.
 
Mission projects for 2009-2010 will include providing needed items for the Women's Correctional Center Red Shoe Box Ministry; Interfaith Hospitality Network; Wilmington Baptist Association (WBA) Toy Store; Lower Cape Fear Hospice; WBA Food Pantry; Hope Harbor Domestic Violence Shelter; Good Shepherd House; Baptist Children's Home Food Drive; Christian Women's Job Corps, and the homeless in our community.
