The Betty Stike Women on Mission Group is pleased to announce a special presentation on Tuesday, April 13th at 10:30 a.m., about missions work in Haiti. We are delighted to welcome Clair Peyton and Donna Wilkers, who are coming from Virginia to share details on how they have been Christ’s “hands and feet” in Haiti. Clair is a sister to FBC’s own Ann Barkley, adding an even more personal connection to the important work we’ll hear about that day. She will be discussing her team's work in medical clinics, construction, and support of the orphanage at Ft. Liberte and she will share how she perceives the recent earthquake is effecting the people she works with in Haiti and what we can do to help.
Please plan to join us for this insightful presentation.

First Baptist Church of Wilmington has a long tradition of missions involvement through Women's Missionary Union. WMU's purpose is to challenge, prepare and equip Christian believers to be radically involved in the mission of God. Our current mission emphasis "Called to Love," allows us to explore together what it means to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind; and also to love our neighbors as ourselves. We support a myriad of mission efforts on a local, state and global basis. These include: mission offerings, encouraging our children in mission activities, serving at the local soup kitchen, hospice, Habit for Humanity, and other ministries such as teaching English as a second language. 2009-2010 Watchword: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” -- Matthew 22:37-39 NIV, adapted
