Serve Now

The Church-wide Work Day scheduled for October 24th has been changed to Saturday, November 7th, from 8:30-12 noon.  Help us clean up the buildings and grounds.

Help is needed in the 2-year-old room for CrossTraining! Spend an hour on Wednesday nights making a positive impact on a young child's life!  On Wednesdays from Sept. 9-Nov. 18 (6:30-7:30 p.m.), teachers are needed in our preschool area.  No teaching experience is required--just a love of children.  Curriculum and supplies are provided.  Contact Cindy Hudson at cindyahudson@hotmail.comThanks!

CrossTraining KIDS has adult leadership positions available!
CrossTraining has started and we still have opportunities for adults help with this high-energy Wednesday night experience.  Openings include: 1 for registration; 1 audio-visual (training provided); 1 small group leader for 1st grade boys, and 2 small group leaders for 2nd grade boys.  Please contact Jeannie Troutman (763-2471) or jtroutman@fbcwilmington.org if you wish to help out!

The WIREYouth Center, located in the Harrelson Center, is looking for volunteers for their middle and high school programs.  Students arrive at 3:45 p.m. and leave at 6:30 p.m.  If you have time to give to help with homework, serving snack or assisting with the program, please contact Annie Adams at 343-1901 or annie@ciscapefear.org

If you can serve coffee and greet people, we need you at the reception in the Media Center following the Journey service at 9:30 a.m.  Contact Brad Smith at 763-2471 or bsmith@fbcwilmington.org.  Thanks!

Media Team Opportunities:  Do you enjoy the Journey service? Then we need YOU as part of the action! Serving on the FBC Media Team is a fun and unique way to contribute to the worship experience at FBC. We are in need of individuals to serve once a month running the video presentations during the Journey service. Full training is required and no experience is necessary. Commitment includes one Wednesday rehearsal a month from 6-8 p.m. and one Sunday from 8-10 a.m. Interested? Want more info? E-mail Stefanie at sriley@fbcwilmington.org.

Good Shepherd Soup Kitchen and the FBC members who assist at lunch time need your help!  Call Ann Powell (395-5884) if you can volunteer your time a couple of hours one day a week or one day a month.

Volunteers are needed to work in The Mustard Seed bookstore and in the Media Center.  Call Brenda Jefferson at 270-3143 for the bookstore and Betsy Beer at 392-1083 for the Media Center if you can help.  Prayerfully consider giving your time to one of these exciting new ministries.

Connecting Ministries
The Connecting Ministries at First Baptist are designed to serve the congregation and to greet and encourage new members and all visitors to FBC.  This is done through a variety of ministries:
Greeters
Greeters have the opportunity to make a good first impression for FBC.  They are usually the first people that visitors see when they enter the church.  All you need to become a part of this ministry is a friendly smile and a small part of your Sunday morning, once per month.
Welcome Center
Volunteers are needed to serve once per month on Sunday morning at the Welcome Center, located in the Connector Building, to help guide visitors in the right direction for their Sunday School classes and their Youth Groups.

If interested in either becoming a Greeter or serving in the Welcome Center, please contact Judy Brown at 763-2471 or by e-mail at jbrown@fbcwilmington.org

Activities Center Volunteers
Our Activities Center hosts numerous volunteer opportunities.  Whether it is assisting with building maintenance, Wednesday Night Suppers, or assisting office staff with daily tasks, there is definitely a place for one to “plug-in.”
If you would like to and are able to volunteer at the Activity Center, please contact Margaret Johnson at 910-799-7564. Her e-mail address is mjohnson@fbcwilmington.org
