Plan Your Visit
Our desire is for you and everyone in your family to connect, find purpose, and grow in relationship with God and others. We offer two weekend worship services, both include engaging music and Bible-based teaching with life application. There are opportunities throughout the week for you to grow in community and partner with others to make a difference in our community and world.
Whether it’s your first time attending church or you’ve attended church for years, we have been preparing for you. Come, you are invited on the journey with us… you are welcome here.
Modern Worship Sunday 8:50am
Led by the Worship Team & Senior Pastor in our sanctuary, our modern worship is relevant biblical teaching in a safe space that invites you to see God in the present, past, and future.
Traditional Worship Sunday 11:00am
Both reverent and inspiring, the ancient pipe organ, hymns, litanies and symbols of the Christian faith lead us to encounter God. Led by our Chancel Choir and Senior pastor in our sanctuary.
Sunday School Groups 10:00am
Small groups are the place where relationships are formed, prayers are shared, and lives are shaped as we look to God, Scripture and to one another for encouragement and guidance.
We want your first visit with us to be a meaningful experience. From the moment you arrive we hope you’ll feel at home. Volunteer greeters at all of our entrances will be happy to provide directions and answer any questions you might have.
“First Baptist Church is an enormous and meaningful part of my family and has been for the past 16 years. Our wedding, child dedications, baptisms, retreats, camps, small groups, transforming sermons, mission opportunities and countless relationships have all defined our journey at FBC. I am grateful for our family of believers who offer grace and support as we all journey towards becoming fully devoted followers of Christ!” Cindy

Located downtown in historic Wilmington, the church address is 411 Market Street, Wilmington NC 28401. Our church sits at the corner of 5th and Market Streets, beside the large water fountain.

Yes, the exact same sermon is preached in each service by the same minister.
- What about my children?
Children are a vital part of our worship. We celebrate inter-generational worship and intentionally seek to engage children in kindergarten through 5th grade in worship. There are regularly scheduled children’s sermons, baptisms and parent child dedication services. To help young children engage, we offer worship bags filled with activities to help your children focus during the worship services. These bags are located at the entrances to the sanctuary.
Preschool children, infants to four-year-olds, will receive excellent care in age specific classrooms during worship. We provide a caring environment specifically tailored to the age of your children and we staff our nursery rooms with caring professionals and dedicated volunteers who have been screened rigorously.
The preschool hall with classrooms for infants through four-year-olds is located directly behind the sanctuary; our door greeters will direct you to this area where you will be met by a childcare host.
We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all of our children.
Nursery workers, worship care volunteers, and teachers all have been screened, background checked and trained in our child protection and safety policies.
- Will there be anyone to greet me when I arrive?
Our Greeters will meet you at the entrances of the building and help direct you to the sanctuary or to our nursery and preschool rooms.
- How can I connect with a staff member?
Our Pastoral staff would love the opportunity to welcome you personally.
If you would like more information, to connect with a minister, or have specific needs, please contact us.
You will also find a Connect Card located in the pew pocket in the sanctuary.
