Welcome to FBC Children's Ministry. Our goal is to provide children and their family’s quality, comprehensive and consistent faith opportunities targeted to draw them into a relationship with Jesus Christ. While Biblical ‘head’ knowledge is important guiding our children toward heart knowledge that moves them to action is our goal- action to love and follow Christ- action to love and serve others.

God LOVES kids and so do we! What a privilege to serve you and your children as we partner together in their spiritual growth!

Welcome, Guests!

We know that visiting a new church and leaving your children in someone else’s care can be an anxious time! We want to reassure you that your children will be cared for diligently and intentionally when in our Children’s Ministry. When you arrive to our campus downtown, enter through the Connector building courtyard on Market Street. All visitors will be assisted with checking-in and escorted to the appropriate rooms. Parents will provide all important information including names, birthdates, addresses, emergency contact cell phone numbers, allergies, or special instructions for their children. A three-part security tag will go on the child’s back, bag and one piece will remain with the parents for pick-up. Specific care instructions can be provided on the form at each classroom door as needed. Please notify teachers each week of any allergies or critical special instructions.

All of our nursery workers, Worship Care volunteers, and teachers have been screened, background checked and trained in our child protection and safety policies. All workers and volunteers will strive to follow all instructions parents leave regarding feedings and naps. All toys and equipment are sanitized after each use. Parents are encouraged to label everything in their child’s bag and bring diapers and change of clothes for each child ages two and under.

Be aware that children may cry momentarily at the point of drop-off, but rarely do they ever continue to cry after parents have left. If your child is hurt, continues to be upset or needs you during the service, we will call or text the emergency number left on the information card.

Sundays

Sunday School – Sundays at 9:50 am

Preschoolers and Children are in stage and grade-divided small groups during Sunday School. From the youngest age, they are taught about God’s love for them and others. As preschoolers grow, they learn foundational Bible stories through story, song, games, home living, puzzles, blocks, nature, art and books. Children experience God through interactive hands-on lessons. Committed teachers provide a warm and friendly place for children to develop trust and faith. Parents can connect to classroom learning through the free app – Bible Studies for Life for Kids.

Worship Care is provided during the 8:50 and 11:00 Worship Services for children from birth to Pre-K. Worship Care affords parents an opportunity to participate in worship with the confidence that their children are also being well cared for and engaged in age-appropriate activities in the Preschool areas. Children from Kindergarten to 6th Grade participate in Intergenerational Worship with their families. Worship Bags and Children’s Bulletins are provided to help children engage with God in

worship.

Passport Kids Camp is an opportunity for 3rd-6th graders to go away to overnight camp with kids from other churches and experience the independence and fun of a mission focused, faith building camp.
  • Kids Fall Retreat – 3rd-6th graders share in a weekend away in the fall for community building, Bible study, worship, games and fun
  • Celebrate Christmas and Celebrate Easter are special times for families to come together to give deeper meaning to these special Christian holidays. Families will participate together in multi-sensory stations to experience the different parts of the Christmas and Easter stories.
  • Inquirer’s Classes – for children asking questions about making a profession of faith and baptism. Parents and kids explore what being a follower of Christ is together. Stay tuned for the next Inquirer's Class.
  • Great Expectations

During pregnancy or adoption, families are encouraged to let our Great Expectations Ministry know of their anticipated family expansion so that we can prayerfully support your family on the journey.

When a new child is welcomed into a family, a rose is placed in our worship services to celebrate the birth or adoption. Infants are welcome in our nursery at six weeks of age. Nursery caregivers will follow directions of parents to maintain feeding and sleeping patterns as much as possible.

Parental Dedication services are scheduled throughout the year for the purpose of acknowledging our children as gifts from God entrusted to our care and committing to raise them in a home where Christ’s love is the foundation.
