| Our purpose in the nursery is to provide a safe and loving environment
for the children of First Baptist Church.
EXTENDED CARE
Extended nursery care is provided for children birth through four
years old during the 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship services on
Sunday mornings to provide creative, safe and developmentally appropriate
activities for small children while their parents participate in
worship.
PAGER SYSTEM
First Baptist Church uses a paging system in the infants, crawlers
and toddlers programs. Parents will be given a pager when a child
is dropped off in the nursery. If the parent is needed for any reason,
they will be paged by those serving in the nursery.
PREPARING FOR WORSHIP
Children age five and older are invited to participate in worship
with their families. Extended care is not provided for this age
group during the worship services. Preparing
for Worship is a class designed to help rising kindergarteners
and their parents make the transition from extended nursery care
to worship. Helping our children learn to worship is one of the
most important jobs of parenting. “Parenting in the Pew”
is the textbook used for this class.
