How will you #Shinelight this Advent season?

This Christmas, we must not overlook the power of Christ’s light. The same light that leads the Wise Men leads us still. God guides our path from the heavens. Jesus reorients us with his light from the manger. And no matter where we go after we’ve encountered Christ, the great light flows through and from us still.

Join us this Christmas as we look for Christ’s light in the world and, in turn, #Shinelight for others to see.

Student Ministry Tree Lot | Nov. 18 - Dec. 9

Throughout the year, our students have the opportunity to experience retreats and mission trips that enhance their spiritual growth while allowing them to build meaningful relationships. The money we raise helps defer the cost of these activities so that more students can participate! Don’t forget to get your tree from FBC!

Celebrate Christmas | Dec. 2 10AM - 12PM

Join us on December 2 for Celebrate Christmas! Kids from birth to 5th grade and their families will share in this special Christmas celebration. There will be an instant nativity play where everyone can join in costumes and sing carols together as we hear the scripture of the story of Jesus’ birth. Families will work together through Activity Stations making wreaths, decorating cookies, crafting keepsake ornaments, and more!

Christmas Caroling | Dec. 3 4PM

Join us for Christmas Caroling! Meet at the Activity Center at 3:30PM before beginning our caroling at 4PM to help spread Christmas cheer. This is an all ages event!

Christmas at the Cove | Dec. 11

Christmas at the Cove is our largest annual outreach event. Through our partners at The Harrelson Center, Alderman Elementary, and beyond, we invite local families in need to a Christmas party and free toy shop. You can get involved by donating gifts to stock the toy shop and volunteering at the event on December 11.

Tuesday Noon Church: Christmas Edition | Dec. 12

Join us December 12 for Tuesday Noon Church: Christmas Edition! We will have a home cooked meal, a time of devotion and fellowship, and share in the joy of the holiday season. Cost is $5.

Christmas at First Baptist 30th Anniversary Concert

Christmas at First Baptist is a musical gift to the community presented by the FBC Chancel Choir and Orchestra. Invite a friend to join you for this beautiful presentation of the hope, peace, joy, and love found in the birth of Jesus Christ.

The performance times are:

  • Dec. 16 | 3PM
  • Dec. 17 | 7:30PM

Blue Christmas Service | Dec. 20 7PM

Christmas is not always the most wonderful time of year. For some of us, we have deep grief and empty chairs that remind us of who is not home for the holidays. If this is you, or you know someone struggling this year, then the Blue Christmas Service is designed with you (or that person) in mind. During this hour of worship, we will lament, pray, light candles, share memories, and offer words of hope for all of us who grieve.

Christmas Eve Services | Dec. 24

Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year, so we will have one morning service at 11AM that is Traditional (no Sunday School), a 5PM Modern service, and a 7PM Traditional service to close out the night. We hope to see you there!
