Help for Bill & Holly Dunn

It is unusual that we would share the following situation in our weekly E-Connect, but many of you have received word of a tragic situation involving Holly and Bill Dunn, and asked “How can we help?”

Bill and Holly were part of our church for several years, with Bill serving as our Minister to Senior Adults. Bill and Holly were also active in Sunday School, Music Ministry, Missions Ministry, etc. Holly is a Physician, and we were sad when they relocated to Alabama when Holly accepted a position at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and the University Medical Center in 2019. Holly contracted the Covid-19 virus while serving in the medical center in 2020. The debilitating effects of “Long Covid” have resulted in numerous extreme physical complications for Holly. Her and Bill sold their home and relocated to Houston, Texas for Holly to receive treatment at a clinic that specializes in caring for “Long Covid” patients for 15 months. Holly has been unable to work, and Bill has been her caregiver since September 2020. Holly’s health is improving in very small, incremental steps, but she will need treatment for months to come. There appears to be no near-term prospect for either her or Bill to be able to work outside the apartment they are renting near the medical clinics where Holly receives treatment. They are hopeful that Holly will continue to gain strength, and her and Bill will return to work as soon as possible.

Several members of our church have spoken with Holly and Bill over the last couple of weeks. They are in dire need of financial assistance with living expenses. Some of you received word that a Go Fund Me page was established for Bill and Holly by a friend. It is legitimate. Members of our congregation have donated to Holly and Bill this way. Some members have asked if they may donate to the Dunn’s through the church. Yes. You may do so by making your check payable to FBCW and designate it to The Benevolence Fund. We will see that Bill and Holly receive it. You may also send a note of encouragement and gift to Bill and Holly at:

Of course, Bill will be happy to hear your voice if you choose to call him (910-899-0047) or Holly (802-342-2830). They love First Baptist Church and deeply appreciate our prayers for them, their daughter, Jessie, and their grandson, Taylor.

Love Does!
