We focus on three distinct yet overlapping steps that you can take to become more connected in our church: becoming involved, following Jesus, and joining our church.

Becoming Involved

We invite you to build friendships and begin worshiping, growing, and serving alongside us. While we believe becoming a Christian, and joining a church are crucial to a growing faith, we don’t insist that you do either one of those things to share life with us. If you’d like to get more involved, connect with us today.

Following Jesus

The most important decision anyone can ever make is to accept Jesus as Savior and Lord. Being a part of a church is great, but we believe that following Jesus is the beginning step that every person needs to take first.  If you’re not sure what taking this step means or how to go about that, we want to connect with you and help you figure it out. We would love to discuss why this matters so much to us and why we think it’s the most important decision you will ever make. If you would like to talk with someone about taking this step of faith, please share a little more information using this form so that we can get in touch with you.

Joining Our Church

We believe that membership matters because being committed to God’s church matters. “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42) Being committed to God’s church and to his people means you are choosing to live out our faith at this time, in this place, and with these people. We are made stronger with every person who chooses to join our church.

There are three paths a person may follow to join First Baptist Church.

Profession of Faith/Baptism

When you accept the love and forgiveness offered to you through Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, then you join our church through believer’s baptism. We encourage you to invite family and friends as we celebrate the beginning of your spiritual journey and the gift of getting to share life with you as your church family.

Transferring of Membership

As a Christian coming to us from another Baptist church, you can request membership by allowing us to contact your previous congregation for a statement from them confirming your membership in that congregation.

Statement of Faith & Previous Baptism

Many in our congregation come from non-Baptist backgrounds. We do not require individuals to be baptized in our tradition to become members, as we recognize your previous baptism as significant in your faith journey.

Coming to us from a non-Baptist church, and having previously professed faith in Christ and been baptized you may join our church with a statement of your faith and previous baptism.

You can let us know of your commitment to join by walking forward and sharing your decision with our ministers at the end of worship or you may join by attending a Connect Gathering held approximately four times a year.

If you have questions not answered here or would like more information on beginning your relationship with Christ, being baptized or joining the church please use the connect form to let us know so that we can guide your next steps.
