Opportunities to SERVE
Making a difference in our community is a huge part of our churches identity. We call that mission. God’s mission is to put a broken world back together one person at a time and we’re invited to be a part of that mission.
Mission is not something we just do- it is the core of who we are as ‘followers of Christ’
Let us help you find a place to serve using your gifts and passions all for the glory of God. Together we can make a difference that will make an eternal impact in our community.
To volunteer or find out more about any of these opportunities, please contact Don Vigus – 910-619-4800 or EMAIL.

Tuesday Night Feeding Ministry
Weekly Update: Tonight (Nov 24) we will serve our annual Thanksgiving meal. Please pray for our guests and serving team today. Coming next Tuesday, December 1, we will once again ask our church members to prepare 10 meals for our homeless friends who live in Downtown Wilmington. You can sign up by going to Gary Harris’ Facebook page. Also, you can pick up 10 styrofoam food boxes at the Activities Center on Monday and Tuesday. Our homeless friends really enjoy knowing that someone took the time to prepare a special meal just for them. They ask us what’s in the food boxes tonight and we tell the story of how members of First Baptist love them so much and they want to share this meal with them.
FBC Prepared Meals – December 1 … On the FIRST TUESDAY of EACH MONTH, we will call on our FBC families to prepare meals. We are asking 20 FBC families to prepare 10 meals each and bring them downtown on Tuesday evening between 4:30-6:00pm. FBC will provide styrofoam containers for you to fill with any type of meal you desire. You may pick up your styrofoam, clamshell containers at the Activities Center front door any time from 9am – 4pm on Monday or Tuesday. Thanks in advance for sharing your cooking skills in Jesus’ name.

Karen Volunteers Needed
Homework helpers are also needed as all of these children were regular participants of our Wednesday night HOMEWORK ministry. Since our state moved into the Phase 3 re-opening, we began again helping our Burmese Refugee children with their homework every Wednesday evening. We started this semester with a small group of only 7 children and 7 GPS students from UNCW. Many of our GPS students who helped were Asian students and it is great for our Karen children to spend time with an Asian college student. Our hope is that they will catch the vision of how important education is and one day they will be a college student themselves.
Food Box Delivery
Once again, NC Baptist on Mission has begun to provide food boxes for the Southeastern North Carolina area. Each Friday a volunteer from NC Baptist on Mission drives a truck filled with food boxes from Tampa, Florida and delivers them to FBC Shalotte for the local churches to pick up and distribute throughout our area to needy families. Last Friday, they filled our FBC van with 129 food boxes. Each box included a gallon of milk, a dozen eggs, some cheese, 5 pounds of chicken, a package of sausage links and assorted fruits and vegetables. It was very exciting to be able to share this food with many families in several low-income apartment complexes and trailer parks, Once again, we aim to give out the food boxes to families with several children which makes this mission project so special.
