Up the Down Staircase

Luke says that Jesus told this parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector “to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous and regarded others with contempt.” Sometimes our attitudes derail our best intentions. When do we find ourselves going “Up the Down Staircase” and what does Jesus want us to do about it.
