Our desire is to teach and train the hearts of our students to love God, and to love others as they see opportunities to be the very presence of Jesus at home, school and at play!  We are passionate about helping students to grow in their faith through relationships – with God, caring adults, and with their peers.

Tree Lot Pre-order Commitments

There are three things to remind you of for our Christmas Tree Fundraiser this year. Reminder, you are NOT collecting money — just getting commitments from folks!

  • November 21  |  9AM  |  TREE LOT SET UP DAY: We need as much help as we can get. Just show up, help out, and get account credits. Older Siblings and Parents count too!
  • November 22  |  PRE-ORDER COMMITMENTS DUE: Enter all commitments into the “Tree Pre-Order Commitment Form” by Sunday night (link above)
  • November 27   |  In the morning – Time TBA  |  TREE UNLOADING: Come unload trees and wreaths and get account credits. Older Siblings and Parents count too!
  • TREE LOT SHIFT SIGN UP IS LIVE:  These are the “Shifts” when the tree lot will be open. We need everybody to participate (parents included) to make it happen, and each shift you work will grant you credits to your account.
    • Weekday shift = 10 credits  |  Weekend shift = 15 credits
    • There is a cap of 10 total slots per family for the first week of sign-ups to allow everyone a chance to sign up. This allows each family to sign up for 2-3 shifts together. After everyone has had a chance to sign-up, we will open the sign-up without limits to fill the rest of the slots.

  • Hangouts will resume in January after the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

This is a great chance to catch up with your friends, play some games together, and dive into God’s word together as a group. This week we’re going to attempt a couple of small campfires, so bring your smores sticks. We will leave the lights on for ya!!

  • Sunday @ 6PM  |  Activities Center

Join your church family for our next Tailgate Worship Gathering for a Carol Sing. We will sing songs, share meaningful testimony, have a brief devotional and time of prayer. Please wear masks and practice social distancing by staying with your family. Aftward, join us for Small Groups.

    • Sunday, December 6 @ 4PM  |  Activities Center Parking lot

Our Student Ministry (6th-12th grade) offers a variety of opportunities each week for students in middle and high school to become involved and get connected. We have food, hang time, great worship, and strong messages about real-life issues.

We want to help students discover the unique gifts and opportunities that God has given them for loving and serving the world in Jesus’ name.

Worship – 8:50 am or 11:00 am  |  FBC Downtown
Let’s worship God together at either 8:50 (Modern) or 11:00 (Traditional) in the sanctuary downtown!

Sunday School – 10:00 am  |  FBC Downtown
On Sunday mornings we have two Bible study groups, middle school and high school. Students are encouraged and challenged as they navigate the journey of being teenagers and followers of Jesus Christ.

Youth Band – 4:30 pm  |  FBC Activities Center
Do you sing or play an instrument? Are you interested in learning what it means to lead others in worship? Come use your gifts in the Youth Band leading others in worship during Sunday night Youth Group!  Rehearsals are Sundays at 4:30 pm.  Contact John Kimbrough for more information.

Youth Group – 5:30 – 7:30 pm  |  FBC Activities Center
Sunday nights we meet in The Cove for a snack supper, fun games, worship led by our Youth Band and Bible study. Come and hang out with friends (or meet new ones) as together we learn how to love God more and to love others better.

Youth Group is the place to be!

“The First Baptist Youth program and leadership have been transformative in the lives of our children and their walk with Christ. Based on their exposure to God’s mission, we have witnessed growth in their lives from believers in Jesus Christ to His disciples, putting faith into action.” David

Special Events & Missions

We have fun …
There are so many fun opportunities throughout the year to get plugged in! Activities for middle school and high school separately, and also combined fun as a large group. A few highlights during the year are DNOW Fall retreat, recreation fun, mission projects, concerts, movie nights, retreats, mission trips, and Edge of Adventure; gatherings designed especially for graduating seniors to help them prepare for life after high school.

We serve …
Being called to model Jesus’ example to SERVE others, all youth are invited on Tuesdays at 6 pm for our Feeding the Hungry Ministry downtown. Students can join the Student Leadership Team, or share their gift of music in the Youth Band.

We believe our mission field is not only the special mission trips during the year, but perhaps more importantly, we are called to show the love of Jesus and help others in the classroom, on the sports field and when hanging out with friends.

CrossTraining – 6:15 – 7:15 pm  |  FBC Activities Center
CrossTraining small groups on Wednesday nights are the heart of our Student Ministry.  Led by committed and caring adults, in small groups students experience spiritual growth in authentic community that makes them feel known and loved. Groups are divided by gender and grade.

Wednesdays: September–November & January–April
