“Finding God’s Order in the Chaos” | Psalm 37:1-7a | Rev. Jayne Davis
Life does not always unfold the way that we think it should. How do we respond to life’s challenges in ways that keep us anchored in God’s peace rather than blowing to and fro in the wind?
Link will activate on October 30.
OCTOBER 24 | ONLINE & IN-PERSON
“Letting Go” | 2 Samuel 1:17-27 | Dr. Jim Baldwin
David is standing on the edge of becoming king, fulfilling a promise God made to him 20 years prior. However, he has the emotional intelligence to know that neither he nor the nation can move forward without letting go of the past. He offers us important lessons in how to find healing from our past and hope for our future.
OCTOBER 17 | ONLINE & IN-PERSON
“The Voice” | 1 Samuel 16:1-13 | Dr. Randy Ashcraft
How often do we make the mistake of assuming things about others based on superficial “surface only” observations? The old adage “you can’t judge a book by it’s cover” is indeed an old-fashioned phrase but nonetheless true. God has chosen some very unlikely characters over the centuries to embody significant assignments. Are we not guilty of judging others based on externals alone? David was not the tallest or most impressive by “normal” standards, but thankfully Samuel did not overlook him. Who are we overlooking in our lives?
OCTOBER 10 | ONLINE & IN-PERSON
“Fighting Giants” | 1 Samuel 17:32-49 | Rev. John Daniels
We are familiar with David vs Goliath and that none predicted at boy would be the hero against a big bully. We love the fact that the “little guy” wins and the giant is defeated. We will be challenged to view this scripture through the lens of today and ask how God prepares us to face our giants. Be ready to be surprised!
OCTOBER 3 | ONLINE & IN-PERSON
“Henry’s Vines” | 1 Samuel 15: 34 – 16:13 | Rev. Jayne Davis
God is doing unexpected things all around us and God is doing unexpected things within us – to form us into the likeness of Jesus in unexpected ways – so that the world may know the unexpected love of God.
SEPTEMBER 26 | ONLINE & IN-PERSON
“Yearning for Security” | Samuel 8:4-11 | Dr. Jim Everette
The people of Israel came to Samuel, demanding a king like all the neighboring countries had. Samuel warned them of the dangers of calling the wrong kind of king and reminded them that God is their true leader.
