Church Constitution

Constitution & By-Laws Amendments

A potential and exciting change to our church structure and constitution is set to be reviewed and voted on by the church. In January of this year, Barrett spearheaded a sub-committee of the Leadership Council to examine the potential of adding Ministry Teams to the Constitution as an official classification along with a few minor (but important) amendments. After months of edits and conversations, both the Leadership Council and Diaconate have approved the constitutional amendments. Three listening sessions will be held in July, and the Church Business Meeting will be August 10 at 10 AM in the Sanctuary.

Ministry Teams will be classified similarly to Committees but with major caveats: They will not require church membership, have a cap as to how many can serve, or have term limits.

Committees will continue as is as they care for the business of the church. All ministries, though, (Children, Youth, Recreation, Spiritual Formation, Worship, etc.) will become a Ministry Team with a dedicated Minister as the Liaison and will function as best as that ministry needs.

Deeper explanation and rationale is given in the constitution document (see below). Ultimately, we are trying to make it easier for new members and future members to get involved with ministries that impact their lives here and now.
