This season, our church is filled with opportunities to gather, worship, and celebrate the hope of Christ together. From festive family events to meaningful worship services, there’s something for every age and life stage. Christmas Poinsettias

Poinsettias will fill the sanctuary during the Advent and Christmas season. You can contribute towards the purchase of poinsettias in honor or memory of a loved one. Each sponsorship is $25.

 

All sponsorships are due by November 30, 2025. You can pay via the digital form on our website (fbcwilmington.org/christmas) or by check, but all information must be submitted through our digital form. If you need assistance filling out the form, please call our main church office at 910.763.2471.

Youth Ministry Christmas Tree Lot

Our FBC Youth Tree Lot will open on Saturday, November 22, and will be open at the Activity Center for the following 3 weeks through December 13. We’ll have Fraser Fir trees, wreaths, bows, and all manner of festive fun. Pre-orders are happening now, so talk with an FBC Youth about preordering yours! We look forward to welcoming you to the Tree Lot later this month!

  • Mon - Fri: 5PM - 8PM

  • Saturday: 9AM - 8PM

  • Sunday: 1PM - 8PM

Night of Thanks

📅 Date: Sunday, November 23

🕔 Time: 5:00PM - 7:00PM

📍 Location: FBC Activity Center

 

We invite you to join us for our 46th annual Night of Thanks! This wonderful FBCW tradition brings us all around tables to enjoy a wonderful community dinner as a church family.

 

Everyone is asked to bring two side dishes of vegetables, salads, meats, pastas, desserts, etc. to feed 10 people. If you are willing to bring pre-carved hams or turkeys, please contact John Daniels. The church will provide bread and beverages. Additionally, we invite you to bring your toy donations for Christmas at the Cove! We will begin collecting toys here, and then continue collecting before the event on December 8.

There will be great conversation, music provided by the Kids Choir and Sunshine Singers, and opportunities to express our thanks to God for the many ways we are blessed. The evening will conclude with holy communion around the table. You won't want to miss this!

Celebrate Christmas

📍 Location: FBC Activity Center

 

Kids Birth - 5th Grade and their families

 

Join us on December 6th for Celebrate Christmas! Kids from birth to 5th grade and their families will share in this special Christmas celebration. There will be an instant nativity play where everyone can join in costumes and sing carols together as we hear the scripture of the story of Jesus’ birth. Families will work together through activity stations, making wreaths, decorating cookies, crafting keepsake ornaments, and more!

Christmas Caroling

📅 Date: Sunday, December 7 

🕔 Time: 4:00PM

📍 Location: Meet at the FBC Activity Center

 

Grab your best singing voice and join us for Christmas Caroling! We will meet at the Activity Center at 4PM and go to local nursing homes to brighten their day with a sprinkle of Christmas Spirit. Bring the whole family for this fun and meaningful tradition.

Christmas at the Cove

📅 Date: Monday, December 8, 2025

📍 Location: FBC Activity Center

 

Christmas at the Cove is our largest annual outreach event. Through our partners at The Harrelson Center, Alderman Elementary, and beyond, we invite local families in need to a Christmas party and free toy shop. You can get involved by donating gifts to stock the toy shop and volunteering at the event on December 8.

Gifts for Christmas at the Cove:

We are looking for donations of new, unwrapped toys for our toy store! We are collecting gifts for children of all ages, and gift cards are also welcome. Our Amazon wishlist is below.

Bring your toy donations with you to our Night of Thanks on November 23! If you have toys to drop off prior to 11/23, please bring them directly to the Activity Center.

 

Volunteer Information:

We need volunteers who are willing to say “Yes!” to helping with the Toy Store, the book drive, kids' crafts and activities, set up, take down, clean up crews, and everything else in between! All ages are welcome to take part. Please prayerfully consider how you can help us host this deeply impactful event.

 

Volunteers are needed from 5-8PM (or later if on cleanup). Sign up using the form below!

Christmas Edition

Join us on December 9 for Tuesday Noon Church: Christmas Edition! We will have a home-cooked meal, a time of devotion and fellowship, and share in the joy of the holiday season. The meal will cost $10 (cash or check at the door). Please RSVP below.

Christmas at First Baptist is a musical gift to the community presented by the FBC Chancel Choir and Orchestra. Invite a friend to join you for this beautiful presentation of the hope, peace, joy, and love found in the birth of Jesus Christ. The performance times are 12.12 @ 7:30 PM, 12.13 @ 7:30 PM, and 12.14 @ 3:00 PM. The Saturday performance will be livestreamed!

Free for everyone and no ticket required. Seats are first come, first serve.

Blue Christmas

📅 Date: Sunday, December 21

🕔 Time: 5:00PM

📍 Location: FBC Downtown Sanctuary (411 Market Street)

The holidays can be a painful season for those who have experienced loss. Christian churches often gather for a "Blue Christmas" service on the longest night of the year to recognize the darkness of grief. We will offer a Blue Christmas worship service with space for prayer, reflection, and remembrance on Sunday, December 21st at 5 PM in the Sanctuary.

Christmas Eve Services

📅 Date: Wednesday, December 24, 2025

🕔 Times:

  • 4PM - Modern service

  • 6PM - Traditional service with the Chancel Choir

  • 11PM - Traditional service

📍 Location: FBC Downtown Sanctuary (411 Market Street)

Celebrate the Christ-child with carols, communion, and candlelight.

 

Logistics:

  • Childcare will be available at the 4:00PM and 6:00PM services

  • The 4:00PM and 6:00PM services will be streamed live to our YouTube Channel

  • Street parking is FREE on Christmas Eve!
