Youth Ministry
Serve. Grow. Belong.
The FBCW Youth Ministry exists to be a community that supports young people during the formative adolescent years. We empower and equip young people in middle and high school to live the amazing life God calls them to by walking alongside them as they discover who God made them to be. We pray and play together, serve and explore together, and support one another, providing a safe place for youth to belong and be part of something bigger than ourselves.

Youth Ministry Summer
Mark your calendars for two incredible mission experiences where our students will serve closer to home, partnering with communities in the Appalachian region. These trips are always powerful times of connection, faith growth, and hands on service. Youth and adults are invited, as we will need plenty of chaperones for both trips! Sign up on our website!
PASSPORTmissions
June 29 - July 3 | Middle School
Harrisonburg, VA | Cost: $450
Join us for a week-long experience of serving neighbors, encountering Christ, and engaging with community. PASSPORTmissions is a service-centric spin on our previous summer experiences. All the same fun (Rec Party, Dance Party, etc.), all the same spiritual growth (Bible Study, Group Devo, Worship), now with intentional time every day to serve as God calls us to serve. This summer brings a change of scenery as we head to Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA. This is going to be an amazing week with our middle schoolers!
DISASTER RELIEF
July 19 - 24 | High School
Asheville, NC | Cost: est. $300
Christ calls us to "love our neighbor as ourselves" as part of the greatest commandment. This summer we will answer this call by serving our neighbors in the Appalachian mountains. WNC and the surrounding areas continue the long recovery work rebuilding from the devastation of Hurricane Helene in 2024. We will spend a week partnering with those who have been on-the-ground since the beginning to spread the love and light of Christ to all those continuing to rebuild their lives after the storm.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY - KIDS SUMMER CAMPS:
We would love for our middle and high school students to join us as volunteers as we go UNDER CONSTRUCTION, knowing God is at Work in us, at our Kids Summer Camps this year! It is an awesome way to lead, develop relationships with younger kids, and help BUILD amazing experiences! Contact Becca Jones (bjones@fbcwilmington.org) or Josh to learn more!

Rev. Josh Godwin
Minister to Students
I joined the FBC staff in 2023 to minister with this great group of students and families, bringing over 10 years of experience to this fun and fantastic work. I love walking alongside young people as they navigate faith through adolescence and start figuring out who they were made to be. My wife (Alyssa) and I, along with our two sons (Max and Teddy) love this town, this church, and all her people.
