Rooted and Built: A Faithful Step Forward (May 2026 Update)

For more than a year, we have been prayerfully discerning how God is leading our church into the future. Through conversations, studies, and shared visioning, one thing has become clear: we are being invited to grow—not just in numbers, but in depth, formation, and mission.

Today, we are excited to share Plan D - the Proposed Master Plan Project Scope which has been approved by our Ad Hoc Building Committee, Leadership Council, and Deacons and reflects a right-sized approach reflective of our church’s capacity study and meeting the ministry priorities of our congregation. The Plan D Scope includes a three-story educational building, renovations to the two villas, WLI building and Plaza on Princess at the Harrelson Center.

This is a significant moment in the life of our church.

Meeting Real Needs with Abundant Vision

We began this journey by identifying six major needs within our congregation—needs related to space, accessibility, hospitality, formation, and our ability to serve both our members and our broader community. These needs were not abstract ideas, but real limitations we have all experienced: crowded classrooms, limited gathering spaces, and constraints that make it harder to fully live into our calling. We also needed to address the very real concerns of our aging building.

The beautiful news is this: the proposed master plan does not simply address these needs—it meets them in abundance.

The new educational building will create welcoming, flexible spaces designed for all ages—from children and students to adults seeking deeper discipleship. At the same time, the campus upgrades will improve flow, accessibility, and connection across our entire property, making it easier for both longtime members and first-time guests to feel at home.

This project is not just about buildings. It is about creating environments where lives can be shaped, relationships can deepen, and faith can take root.

A Vision Grounded in Faith and Wisdom

We also want to share an important point of reassurance. Our capacity study—conducted with careful attention to our financial realities—showed that this project is within our reach.

Simply put: we can afford this, if we remain faithful.

That faithfulness will take many forms. It will look like continued generosity, wise stewardship, and a shared commitment to the mission God has entrusted to us. But more than anything, it will look like trust—trust that the God who has led us this far will continue to provide as we take this next step.

Rooted and Built Together

In many ways, this moment reflects the heart of what it means to be a church. We are rooted—grounded in the love and faithfulness of God. And we are being built up—together—into something that will serve not only us, but generations to come.

Below we are sharing the most current plans (interior renderings are still subject to change) in preparation for church-wide vote on May 31 at 10 AM to adopt this project scope and begin a capital campaign.

In the month of May, we will hold six informational sessions to explain details and answer all questions. Additional information about timelines and opportunities for each of us to participate in this journey will be forthcoming.

For now, we invite you to hold this vision with us, attend at least one informational session, ask questions, and pray for how you and your family will contribute to make this dream a reality.

My prayer is that we arrive collectively at a place of discernment that it is, in fact, God’s will for us to build a campus that better reflects who we are, a space that expands what we can do, and a future shaped by the desire to grow in faith.
