Children love to learn about missions! They are so concerned about others and want to help and have a limitless curiosity about people down the street or around the world.

First Baptist Church Mission Statement: To Honor God by becoming and helping others to become fully devoted followers of Christ.
Children's Ministry Mission Statement: By our example and teaching, promote our children's growth in faith and understanding of Jesus Christ so they may choose to follow Him and be examples of Christ's love to others.

Our Mission Education for children is a part of our Wednesday night, Life Together, programming. The fun begins at 6:00 p.m. with mission studies for children from age three to the sixth grade.

Mission Friends is for children three years of age through Kindergarten. Children learn about missionaries who serve all over the world. They learn that Jesus loves all of us and wants us to pray for one another and help each other.

Girls in Action, (“GAs"), is a missions organization for girls in grades one through six. Each week the girls do mission studies and craft activities, discuss Bible verses, and pray specifically for missionaries, both locally and around the world. Annual events include a sleepover, Mother/Daughter Banquet, and GA Camp.

Royal Ambassadors, (“RAs”), is a program designed to involve boys in first through sixth grade with the study of missions and missionaries. Each week the children have a mission study and activity, a weekly Bible verse, and prayer for missionaries at home and around the world. Annual events include the Pinewood Derby, a sleepover, and the Father/Son Football weekend at Wake Forest University.

Mission Possible days involve the whole First Baptist family in missions in and around our community twice a year. The children have mission projects especially designed for their age group. Once a year we provide the children with a “mock” mission trip to a part of the world where missionaries are serving God. They experience the pretend play of passports, plane rides, lost luggage, hands-on mission activities, and culture and customs from other countries. The children return from their “mock” mission trip just in time for mom or dad to pick them up at the end of Mission Possible Day.
