ABOUT

This summer, our Arts Camp is going technicolor! Campers in completed K-5th grades will learn about the color wheel, color theory, the color organ, how artists such as Wassily Kandinsky experimented with putting meaning and emotion to color, how composers such as Alexander Scriabin put color to sound, and the musical circle of fifths. The highlight of the week will be our performance of the OG "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber in 1968 for a boys choir in England. Campers will learn the songs and choreography to this abridged 20-minute musical, create a backdrop, and perform it at the Family Arts Celebration on Friday, August 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Activity Center. There's still time to sign up to attend and to volunteer. Leap into the arts at the technicolor Kids Art Camp!
