When I was walking up to receive my star word for 2024, I was excited but also a little nervous. What word would God place in my hand? Would I live up to expectations and responsibilities of that word. When I received my word, I took a quick look. Nurturing!
The star words were passed out completely at random….or were they? God knew just what He wanted me to do. Nurture.
With my Mother grieving the loss of her husband and my daughter starting a new career path, I instantly thought of two people I could nurture. Who else? The opportunities to nurture have popped up all year.
Nurturing isn’t hard. It is as simple as saying, I’m at the store, can I get you something? It’s a porch chat with a friend who has a worry. It’s simply looking around, paying attention and doing what you can to meet a need.
I placed my star word on my refrigerator last January. It has remained there all year as a reminder of God’s love for me and how I can give love to others. And you know what, ultimately, I am the one who has been nurtured.
